Cards, Simon Says Stamp

Smile :)

Good evening everyone!!! We survived the ear infections the twins had over the weekend, which made me Smile!! (Hehe) thankfully this one wasn’t as bad as it has been previously. My poor baby girl has gone through 3 ear infections now, but with it being my nieces birthday Sunday and the ear infections I had such a bad creative block I wanted to cry. I even went on Pinterest (which I could spend HOURS on and didn’t see anything that jumped out at me).

So Friday after the babies doctors appointment I convinced my wonderful hubby to stop at Michaels for me. I told myself to get replacement blades for my cutter and single sheets of designer paper. Well after I grabbed those I decided to walk around and see if they had any 4th of July goodies yet (unfortunately I didn’t find any) and I found these beautiful paper pads for only $4.99!!!!! I literally had 6 in my hands but regretfully narrowed it down to two.

If anyone would like to see a video with the papers inside please let me know asap so I can post one before I tear into these 🙂

I started this card Sunday while trying to do the circle challenge for Simon Says Stamp but nothing would come to me with this paper. Then I decided to make another simple card I could easily make multiples on and this one I will definitely use! I love the colors and shimmer on it.

It’s it gorgeous?!?! Now I’m probably super biased because I made it but that’s okay!

This card was super simple to make. I used:

  • Designer paper 1.25 x 5.5
  • White card base (4 x 5.5) – just shy of the A2 size
  • Coordinating ribbon
  • Sentiment stamp – I used my Happy Day Stampin Up set.
  • Ink
  • Liquid glue
  • Lighter (for the ribbon)
  • Round corner punch
  • Glossy accents

I’m still trying to figure out the glossy accents. I feel like sometimes I squeeze too much and sometimes not enough. Then if I don’t do enough, I squeeze harder and do to much. I haven’t found a happy medium yet so please pardon the little mess I made with the letters.

This ribbon is actually from the dollar store. I bought it last year at Christmas. I hope they bring it back this year so I can stock up!!! I always find the best ribbon there.

This weeks challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge is anything goes and thank goodness! Hopefully with the twins coming out of their funk I’ll come out of mine.

Thanks for stopping by!!! I hope to have more cards (and swaps I participate in) up soon!!
